An official historic monument, Chateau d'Audrieu has a history dating back to the 1700s. Take a trip back in time, and relax in the lush countryside of Normandy.

Gaiety and elegance are the two words which automatically spring to mind to describe this magnificent 18th-century chateau, a listed building set amongst exquisite French gardens and parkland.

Ever since becoming a hotel in 1976, Audrieu is a fine example of good taste and the symbol of the French art of living. Period fireplaces and furniture give a personal touch to this ancestral home. Stay in one of its suites and rooms, some of them with original wainscoting, and enjoy a combination of luxury, space and comfort.

Treat yourself to superb, innovative cuisine enhanced by an excellent wine list in one of the three elegantly furnished dining rooms. For your utmost pleasure, the hotel also boasts a design bar serving light dishes as well as salted or sweet "croques en bouche" to go with your drink.

Unwind in the hotel's charming garden or take a dip in the outdoor swimming pool. Tree houses are also available to keep your children entertained while you enjoy a moment of peace at Chateau d'Audrieu.

Chateau d'Audrieu is an oasis of elegance and luxury in a tiny, charming village. One has to drive at least 20 minutes to get to nearby Bayeux, but we enjoyed the sense of retreat and relaxation we found here. The staff is very attentive and we found plenty to amuse ourselves on the Chateau grounds as well as the nearby village.

Dog friendly, friendly staff and very nice property. There is nice small hiking trail on the property as well as nice garden. The hotel has a nice restaurant and a nice bar. There is outdoor pool, but I did not use. Location relatively central to many sites.

This was my second visit to the Chateaux - one over 30 years ago with my now late husband and 8-year-old daughter and just now with that same daughter and my 7-year-old granddaughter. I love this place. I love the serenity of it. The renovations are wonderful and the service superb. Thank you for enriching my memories of this unique destination. I wish we could have stayed longer.
