How to go to Arusha

Arusha is accessible by air and by road. Here are some ways to get to Arusha:

By Air: Arusha has its own airport, the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), which is located about 60 kilometers (37 miles) east of the city. Several international airlines, including Turkish Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines, operate regular flights to JRO from major cities such as Istanbul, Addis Ababa, and Nairobi. Once you arrive at JRO, you can take a taxi or shuttle bus to Arusha.

By Road: Arusha is well-connected by road to other major cities in Tanzania, such as Dar es Salaam and Mwanza. Several bus companies, such as Kilimanjaro Express and Dar Express, operate regular services between these cities and Arusha. The journey from Dar es Salaam to Arusha takes around 10-12 hours, while the journey from Mwanza takes around 8-10 hours.

By Private Transfer: If you prefer a more comfortable and convenient option, you can arrange a private transfer from the airport or your hotel in another city to Arusha. Many hotels and tour companies offer this service, which can be arranged in advance or on arrival.

Regardless of the mode of transport you choose, it's important to make sure you have the necessary travel documents, such as a valid passport and visa if required.
