How to go to Hue
Hue is located in central Vietnam and can be reached by air, train, or bus. Here are some options for getting to Hue:
By Air: Hue has its own airport, Phu Bai International Airport, which is located about 15 kilometers south of the city center. There are direct flights to Hue from major cities in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, as well as from international destinations such as Seoul, Taipei, and Bangkok.
By Train: The Reunification Express train runs from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City and stops in Hue along the way. There are both overnight and daytime trains available, and the journey from Hanoi to Hue takes about 13-14 hours. Trains also run from Da Nang to Hue, which takes around 2-3 hours.
By Bus: There are several bus companies that operate services between Hue and other cities in Vietnam. The journey from Hanoi to Hue takes around 12-14 hours, while the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue takes around 18-20 hours.
Once you arrive in Hue, you can take a taxi, motorbike taxi (xe om), or local bus to get around the city. There are also bicycle and motorbike rentals available if you prefer to explore the city on your own.
