Originally a Villa, the grounds, views, hotel itself and rooms are beautiful, chic, interesting, color and fabric choices well done. Property is 5 star.But there are odd surprises when you stay here. Exceptional service (instant delivery of ice and other requests to room, front desk tour of property with glass of Prosecco upon check-in) then odd total misses (wine ordered, delivered to table, not opened, no tasting offered, no subsequent pours...other guests eating dishes not on the menu).While the breakfast is very good, dinner at the restaurant should be avoided at all costs. 1 star restaurant. Uninspired dishes, outrageous cost for the delivery, vacillation between a good charcuterie then nice presentation but tasteless results or moderate satisfaction destroyed by total lack of value. Our dinner was completely dissatisfying and cost way more than our previous 8 dinners at hotels and restaurants in Florence - also at other properties with overnight prices both higher and lower than Il Salviatino. Wait staff and later front desk staff refused to remove dishes sent back to the kitchen, inedible. Stay but do NOT eat there. Just minutes away there are many great choices in the city or in little nearby Friesole.As an aside - if you like cold rooms, then you will not be happy with the subtle air conditioning which appears to not work very well. “We can hear that it is on when we turned off your music system” the staff told us. We slept with open windows.

Amazing place. A heaven just minutes from the city. Beautiful food, gorgeous rooms, impressive garden and spectacular view. And the kind and warm staff is making you feel at home. We spend one of our best holidays here as a family.

The Hotel itself was amazing. The grounds and the view as well. Had dinner in the hotel my first night and the food was spectacular also . What impressed me the most was the staff. To use the word attentive would be a massive understatement. I can not express enough how much i loved it here and highly recommend it.
