WHO SAID MILAN IS GRAY?
It’s often said that Milan is gray, yet all you have to do is walk into its design outlets to realise that the city is a true master when it comes to playing with colours and style. And there is no shortage of colour or style in The Gray, a design hotel looking out on the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery, close to Milan’s Cathedral and its most famous shopping streets. From the moment you step into the hotel the perceptive metamorphosis is striking. From the elaborate facade decorated with Art Deco friezes, columns and high-reliefs, to the magnetic modernity of the interior where a purple pouf, the Wengé wooden floor in the hall and the cool white shades have all been chosen for their wow factor. Similar features are to be found throughout the hotel: from the bar with its illuminated tables, to the restaurant where the cutlery creates artistic lamps, and to the rooms with their contemporary metropolitan style, ebony furniture and Jacuzzi bath tubs with built-in plasma TVs.

Can not believe it's a five star hotel. There was nothing five star about it may be except it's location. Small lobby, ugly and cheap interior (no ideal of what style are the decorations), rough sheets (very uncomfortable to sleep on). I had a suite but had to walk up a tiny stairs to a tiny living room, if not careful hit my head and legs every where. And still need to walk up through another tiny shaking stairway (believe I did not had a drop of drinks) to another small open bed room which barely can move around. Don't chose this hotel. There are much better hotels in Milan.

An amazing location with a view of the Duomo and yards from the Victor Emmanuel Galleria. Everyone was helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is good but not spectacular. There is a small outside terrace which is delightful but more could be made of the space.

We stayed 4 nights in May 2019 at the Sina The Gray hotel in Milan and had a wonderful time : best location in town (next to the cathedral and almost under the Dome) , 1st class staff and services. We look forward to our next visit !
